Class Experience

In this class, students will learn tricks and techniques artists use to create an illusion of depth on a flat 2D surface of a drawing. Students will see and reflect on examples of world art, and follow drawing demonstrations while adding personal creative elements to their projects. All throughout the classes, students will be asked to hold up their work to check for understanding. We will be focusing on drawing landscapes and still lifes in this class, but students will also see examples of how the same techniques can be used when drawing people or animals. #creative

Each week, we will begin with a photograph and/or a work of art to demonstrate the concept of the week. We will then begin our drawing together, with the teacher demonstrating the concept in her own drawing, but finish the work from our imagination.

Learners can join this club at any point in time. This class meets weekly on a regular basis. Parents can enroll and withdraw their learners at any point and are charged weekly like a subscription.
It is possible for a new learner to join in any week, as every week will be structured very similarly.

Below is the weekly breakdown of the class themes:

Week of June 19 - cross contour drawing of a still life drawing.
Week of June 26 - shading a still life drawing.
Week of July 3 - cones, cylinders, and spheres in a landscape drawing.
