During this one-time class, we will delve into the question “Is Marketing the career for you?” We will explore the marketing profession, including an introduction to some basic marketing terminology. The main focus of this class is to determine if a Marketing Career is a good fit for the student.
I am passionate about Marketing and want to share this passion with my students. Most of my career has been in Marketing. I have a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) with a Marketing Major and International Business minor, Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). My well-rounded business background includes Sales Development Manager, Customer Sales and Service Manager, Sales Training Manager, Sales Executive, Senior Account Manager, International and Domestic Sales, Sales Coordinator, Office Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, and Property Manager. In addition to this multitude of business background, I also have over two years of online teaching experience. My goal is for each student to learn about Marketing and to feel welcomed and included in our class discussions.
There is no homework for this class, however, this is a group discussion, and as such, it is expected the students come to class with a willingness to learn and share ideas and information they have. As this class is a group discussion, and the students are expected to willingly participate and share ideas. If any student has specific questions relating to a Marketing Career, I encourage them to bring their questions to class!
There will be no formal assessment for this class. This class is geared to engage the students in an interesting and informational discussion regarding the career of Marketing, and to see if Marketing may be a good fit for the student. This class is a group discussion, and as such, the students are expected to willingly participate and share ideas.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We may choose to look up additional job positions during class. Because of this, students should have an internet search engine (like google) available during class.
