Class experience
This Fun Irish Dancing Course is aimed at children aged 7 - 10 years. It is suitable for beginners or those with a little experience. (Please note: this course can be repeated. If there are repeat learners the dance will be different each time). This Course will be studying some basic Irish Dancing Steps (Soft Shoe) as well as learning an easy Irish Dance Routine over the 4 weeks. Students will learn a short, Irish Dance (Soft Shoe) and some basic Irish Steps (including Skips/7's/Points).
I have been teaching dance for 25 years. I am a qualified professional dance teacher holding certificates with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Associations) and the NCDTA (Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association in the UK). I have taught all ages of dance from young to adult; also training other teachers. I am currently the Children's Program Director of a Dance Studio in the USA. I learned Irish Dancing/Riverdancing with the IDTA Syllabus.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental Guidance:- Please ensure children have enough space to move around and remove anything they may bump into or knock down (e.g. your expensive vase!) Class Attire:- Please wear appropriate free-moving clothes e.g. tee-shirt with leggings, leotard and wear either ballet shoes/Irish gillies or bare-feet (not socks) so they do not slip during the class. Fitness:- Your child should be in a fit and healthy state. Please check with your doctor if you have any concerns. Technical Requirements:- Please check that your Zoom App is updated as this can cause issues with the sound quality in class.
