1-2 hours per week. It's encouraged that students do the homework which consists of reviewing the vocabulary by watching videos or utilizing online flashcards between classes along with completing writing sheets to assist in learning Chinese characters.Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
Students will learn to use polite words such as 'thank you' and 'please come in'. They will learn how to invite people do things and offer things to them such as a drink of water. Question/answer exchanges will take place between student-student and teacher-student. Class activities will include role-playing and games such as matching games. Videos will be provided in between class meetings to reenforce what we're learning. Writing assignments will be provided in simplified Chinese and are optional; traditional Chinese worksheets are available upon request. Week 1: The verb 'to want/going to do something', 'please come in', 'please have a seat', polite words Week 2: New verbs people like to do Week 3: Invite people to do things together Week 4: Combine all things learned

Our teachers are either native Chinese speakers, have an advanced degree in Chinese and experience teaching, or have lived in a Chinese speaking country extensively and have experience teaching Chinese. Our teachers have a wide range of experience that match them to their respective class groups. Our courses include the use of music, technology, games, culture and learning through play. Each course is designed with age-specific targets and resources. Much research and evaluation is continually embedded into our curriculum to make it as effective and efficient as possible. There's always a way to overcome obstacles in learning, especially in language-learning and we embrace the opportunity help students overcome any obstacles they face.
