Description
Class Experience
The learning goals of this class will be to build a solid base of understanding of the basic concepts and tools for investing that everybody should have an understanding of to add security to their futures.
I have a Master of Business Administration. I have 3 years of experience teaching business, economics, and finance classes at the Junior/Career college level, in addition to 3 years of classroom experience teaching middle and high school students, and 1 year of experience as an elementary & middle school principal. Finally, I have 4 four years experience as a National Football League Players Association Certified Contract Advisor, during which time I negotiated contracts, as well as helped to educate my clients as to the proper ways to prepare themselves for financial independence after their sports careers had ended. It is this same passion to help young people build financial security and freedom that I enables me to guide students.
Homework will be very limited, however there will be a Stock Market Project where the student pick stocks and monitor them between Week 3 & Week 4. The students will then give a brief presentation during class Week 4 on how the stocks that they chose performed, and why they chose those stocks.
1 file available upon enrollmentThe student will need a computer/ internet access for Weeks 3 & 4 in order to track their stocks for the Stock Market Project.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students progress will be assessed by their completion and competency during their Stock Market Project. No letter grades will be given for this course, unless requested by parent.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
