This class is for the true beginners! No prior investing knowledge is required for this class. We will go over all of the basics, including: • Introduction: What is investing, anyway? What does it include? What does it mean? (~10 minutes) • The different types of investment income, including interest, dividends, capital gains, and more. (~20 minutes) • The different types of investment tools, including stocks, bonds, real estate, and more. (~20 minutes) • The different types of investment accounts (for example tax-advantaged or tax-free accounts vs. taxable, and why you would use each one). (~20 minutes) • Questions, Discussion and Wrap-up (~15 minutes) Since this is a lot of information to cover, it will be a little more lecture-style based on slides. However, there will be lots of space for questions and discussion throughout our time together. I will also provide a PDF hand-out with a summary, glossary and further resources. For your budding investor, this foundational information will be invaluable! I can't wait to meet your teen in my class! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
