What does an octopus, a earthworm, and sea star have in common? They are all invertebrates! In this one-time lesson, learners will explore what makes invertebrates different from vertebrates, like mammals and birds. We will start off by introducing a LIVE invertebrate and learning a little bit about their physical and behavioral traits. Then, using an interactive Google Slide presentation, we will explore some large groups of invertebrates, such as insects, arachnids, corals, crustaceans,...
Learners will be able to identify the characteristic that makes vertebrates and invertebrates unique. Learners will be able to give examples of invertebrates. Learners will develop an appreciation for some invertebrates they normally consider creepy or crawly!
