Introduction to Writing a Paragraph With Ms. B, Fortnite Themed
In this one time class, Introduction to Writing a Paragraph, Fortnite Themed, students will learn how to write a Fortnite themed paragraph using the Hamburger Method. Students can enroll more then one time. We will cover different parts of Fortnite in each class.

**Fortnite knowledge is needed, we will be using this as our class theme to write a paragraph** In this class students will learn how to write a themed paragraph. Students will be using the Hamburger Method to help guide our writing. The "paragraph hamburger" is a writing organizer that visually outlines the key components of a paragraph. Topic sentence, detail sentences, and a closing sentence are the main elements of a good paragraph, and each one forms a different "piece" of the hamburger. Students will work together as a group, individual and with teacher to help sort thier thoughts and sentences. Students will then create a paragraph in class. We will not be playing Fortnite in class, but students will have several opportunities to discuss their favorite Fortnite skins, favorite drop areas and dances (these are the topics we will be writing about). My teaching style is creating an environment in which students feel successful when they are writing. As we discuss each sentence, I will write the sentence down for others to use this as their example. A one page Hamburger Paragraph page will be available for print out.

Supply List
Upon enrollment students will receive the Hamburger Method Paragraph Writing tool sheet. Students are encouraged to have a brown, green and red writing pencil, colored pencil or marker. Students are welcome to also use a dry erase board and colored dry erase markers.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

When the pandemic started, I knew right away that homeschooling was the journey our family would be taking. I have been homeschooling along with teaching. I began teaching when I was 18! I fell in love with teaching and showing students that they were Rockstars! (Reading Rockstar, Math Rockstar, Social Studies Rock Star). It was very important to me that learners felt that they were awesome and could rock any subject that was taught.
I have two amazing kids!! A Jr. in high school and a middle school learner. Our favorite things to do as a family is to travel and collect board games.
I am a huge advocate for special needs students. My son’s journey with Autism and ADHD taught me so much from learning about different therapies to IEP goals. I create classes so that all children with different abilities can participate and feel valued.
With my ten years’ experience, as a preschool teacher my passion is teaching children through engaging activities, while having fun. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a private tutor for Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Currently I am working towards my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and becoming a certified Curriculum Specialist. With different classroom setting experiences I had the opportunity to focus on phonics, reading, sensory activities, science experience and history. Getting children excited about learning is what drives me every day.
