Description
Class Experience
Students will examine the tenets of each of the 5 major world religions and will compare and contrast each of the religions while helping develop their world view.
I have been teaching middle school medieval world history for 15 years which includes the basic tenets of these major world religions. I am certified to teach 7th-12th grade history. I also majored in secondary history education at a private Christian school that required religion classes that covered these 5 major world religions.
Each week students need to: 1. Fill in their religion chart from the video lecture 2. Answer the teacher submitted questions in the Outschool Classroom. 3. Create a flipgrid summary of their learning from the week along with any questions they still have that they want to ask. 4. By Friday they should respond to at least 2 other student video submissions.

No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
In this class we will be discussing the religions of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. We will cover their basic beliefs and historical context and compare and contrast them. No one religion will be taught as the "right" one in this class.
