Students will review how many letters are in the alphabet by counting them together using plastic letters. They will learn what makes a vowel a vowel and a consonant a consonant. The lesson will begin with a connection, teaching point, active engagement, and a link. For the active engagement, we will use a mirror to observe what our mouths do when we say certain letter sounds. My teaching style is structured, loving, patient, and kind. All learners are encouraged to participate if they feel comfortable. No required experience is needed for this class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I have had the pleasure of teaching preK, kindergarten, and first grade over the last 8 years. I will be providing classes to ages 4-7 in reading, phonics, math, and writing. I also love to teach science through experiments and math through baking!
I received my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from Texas Christian University in 2013. I am currently teaching at a play and nature based NAEYC accredited school where nature and nurture come together to offer excellence in early childhood education.
I love to make learning FUN and hands on! We learn through play, songs, and meaningful experiences. I am very patient, gentle, and kind but also set clear expectations and my students learn and perform.
When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband, read, cook, and travel with my family. We have a Goldendoodle named Winston who loves to explore our backyard and neighborhood. I am looking forward to watching your children learn and grow everyday! :)
