In this class we will take a look at some of the possibilities available for those who are interested in veterinary careers. We will discuss a variety of professions within veterinary medicine, and some of the specialties that have emerged. Week 1- Veterinary team member roles. What is the difference between the roles of the veterinary practice team members? We will discuss the Veterinary technology and veterinary assistant career paths and how they are each vital parts of the practice team....
I have been a certified veterinarytechnician for more than 30 years, have a MEd from Colorado State University and I am now finishing up my second Master’s program and will have a Master of Veterinary Education (MVEd) from Lincoln Memorial University’s School of Veterinary Medicine by spring 2024. I have been teaching at local community colleges in veterinary Assistant Programs and a variety of Veterinary Science programs for grades 3-5, 6-8, and high school. I also teach at a private university in an equine studies program. I am also a homeschool mom! At home, my family has 3 mini horses, 4 Nigerian dwarf goats, 9 chickens and 2 cats! I am absolutely passionate about sharing my experience and love for animals and veterinary medicine with others and would love to help your children explore this amazing field with a variety of possible careers so I can be a part of the future of more veterinary professionals!
