Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 12
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This class will go through how to make games using Unity and programming in C#, from beginning to end. We will start with creating some easy and exciting games, and then work to understand how everything works so that we can create something new and interesting.

We will cover how to program which requires a technical understanding of how the C# language works. We will learn how to store data, and then how to read data in order to have a dynamic experience.

You can expect a very interactive see-and-do approach that requires a hands-on approach. It is important for the student to learn by doing, to show that the concepts are understood rather than merely replicating code. The goal is for the student to create their own code and use their own logic.

I won't have formal assignments, but after teaching a concept I will ask them to exercise the learned content for the next session by creating content. The expectation is that by exploring themselves, students will come across new problems that will help propel their understanding.

Students of this class should expect to see my work, and then do their own work so I can see their process.

Parental Guidance
Games are an art and the content is dictated by the creators, which in this case will be the students. In my examples I will not be using violence, and i will encourage students to use nothing more intense than a cartoon level of conflict. Be aware that conflict is a common theme in games.
Pre-Requisites
User should have a personal windows or mac computer with Unity installed
