Learning the basics of playing ukelele, including the parts of the instrument, how to tune the strings, how to read tabs, 3-4 chords, and 1-2 strum patterns--all combined into playing a song together!
Class experience
In this class, we will learn the parts of the ukelele, including the head, tuning pegs, strings, body, frets; the names of the 4 strings; how to tune the strings; our finger numbers; how to read tabs (chords displayed in a graph form); 4 different chords; and 1-2 strum patterns. In order to apply our new knowledge, we will put it all together to learn the chorus of "How Far I'll Go" from Moana! The introductory portion will take about 30 minutes, and then we will use the remaining 15 minutes...
Students will learn the parts and tuning of their instrument, and they will learn how to read tabs in a way that enables them to learn more chords and songs on their own by searching for ukelele tabs. They will also learn a couple strumming patterns so that they can develop their rhythmic ability.
