Learners will learn how to introduce themselves, names of colors, numbers, family members, locations, food, household items, the umlaut and eszet, English words that have seeped into German and words that are not at all what they appear to be when you look at them. We will also look at some culture, history, and geography. Eins, zwei, drei lasst uns gehen! Students will learn through discussion, slides, speaking, and reinforce skills will visual flashcards. Day One: History, culture, geography, numbers, colors, and family members Day Two: Introductions and how words are masculine, feminine, or neutral and family members. Introduction to household items, rooms in the home, the umlaut and eszet Day Three: Completion of household items and rooms of the house. Places to visit, food-fruits, vegetables, sweets, and more. Day Four: Basic verbs, sports, and English words that have seeped into German and words that are not at all what they appear to be when you look at them
Learning Goals
Introduction to the basics of the German language, culture, history, and geography. Students will all have opportunities to speak German.

Supply List
Pen, pencil, markers or colored pencils, scissors and glue stick. I will sent a German booklet with other teaching materials via email.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

After being born in Germany, I lived in Germany for 5 years and Belgium for 3 more. I have had 8 years of German language instruction through school and college. I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.
