An introductory class to the geography (human & physical) of South America. Students will explore the continent’s regions, landscape and physical features, culture, resources, major cities, landmarks and more!
Class experience
US Grade 4 - 7
In this one-time class, students will be introduced to the geography of South America. The class covers the physical and human geography of the continent. Students will learn about the continent’s regions, climate and major physical features (the Amazon, Andes, Atacama), an overview of the languages spoken, celebrations, food and animals. Students will gain a better understanding of the geography of South America.
I hold a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sociology. I am passionate about Social Studies, but I enjoy teaching Geography and History.
An optional worksheet will be provided for students in the classroom.
Lessons are presented using Canva presentation slides. This is done via screen share. Whenever possible, I utilize blooket to review the lesson at the end of each class. Students do not require an account to be able to participate in the lesson and game. I share a link in the chat box for them to join in the game. Additionally, I may utilize Youtube videos during class (via screen share) or outside of class. YouTube links posted in the classroom for further studies are all embedded. Learners do not need to click on any external links.
