This is an introductory class to the geography of Asia. The class covers the physical and human geography of the continent. Topics covered in the class include the continent’s regions, climate and major physical features (such as the Yangtze River, Gobi Desert & the Himalayas), an overview of the languages spoken, celebrations, food and animals. We will also explore some of its major cities and amazing landmarks. My teaching style is very interactive. I ask questions throughout the lesson and give students opportunities to ask and answer questions as well. While I gently encourage participation and sharing, I do not push students if they are not comfortable speaking up. I utilize a slide show presentation, short video clips, and games to deliver and review the lesson. Students do not need any prior knowledge to take this class. All are welcome! I look forward to seeing you soon.
Learning Goals
Students will gain a better understanding of the geography of Asia.
