Homework
2-4 hours per week. Homework assignments will include reading materials, practice exercises, and quizzes. Each week, students will: Read relevant sections from the SAT Practice Quick Start Guide and other provided materials. Complete practice questions and exercises on the Bluebook™ app. Review and analyze the results of their practice tests. Engage in interactive activities Homework Frequency: Assignments will be given weekly to reinforce the topics covered in the class. Checking for Correctness: Homework will be reviewed for completion and correctness. Assignment Requirements: All assignments are required for all students to ensure they are making progress and fully engaging with the course material.
Assessment
Role of Assessments: Assessments play a crucial role in this class by helping students gauge their understanding of the material and track their progress. Types of Assessments: Practice Tests: Full-length practice tests will be assigned at the beginning, middle, and end of the course to measure improvement. Quizzes: Short quizzes will be given weekly to assess understanding of the weekly topics. Practice Questions: Regular practice questions will be integrated into the homework assignments to provide continuous assessment. Assessment Frequency: Practice Tests: Three times during the course (Weeks 1, 4, and 8). Quizzes: Weekly. Practice Questions: Weekly as part of homework assignments. Assessment Format: Practice Tests: Take-home assignments using the Bluebook™ app. Quizzes and Practice Questions: Completed as part of weekly homework assignments. Assessment Requirements: All assessments are required for all students to ensure they are effectively preparing for the SAT and can identify areas for improvement. By completing the homework and assessments, students will build a strong foundation in the Reading and Writing sections of the Digital SAT, develop effective test-taking strategies, and gain the confidence needed to succeed on test day.

What will be taught?
This course is designed to introduce students to the Reading and Writing sections of the Digital SAT. Students will learn to understand the structure of the test, develop effective strategies for answering different types of questions, and practice with real SAT questions. 

Class structure
The course is structured over 8 weeks, with each week focusing on specific aspects of the Reading and Writing sections of the SAT. Each week includes reading materials, practice exercises, and interactive activities to reinforce learning. Students will complete weekly assignments and practice tests using the Bluebook™ app, College Board and Khan Academy resources.

How will you teach?
The teaching approach combines direct instruction, guided practice, and interactive activities. Each week, students will receive instructional videos, slides, and reading materials. They will also engage in practice exercises and quizzes to test their understanding. 

What's your teaching style?
My teaching style is supportive and interactive. I aim to make learning engaging by incorporating a variety of teaching methods, including lectures and practical exercises. I encourage students to ask questions and actively participate in discussions to deepen their understanding.

How much will learners get to interact with you and each other?
Students will have opportunities to interact with me through weekly discussion forums and optional live Q&A sessions. 

By the end of the course, students will have a thorough understanding of the Reading and Writing sections of the Digital SAT, effective strategies for tackling different question types, and the confidence to perform well on test day.

Week 1: Introduction and Diagnostic Test
 Objectives: Familiarize with the Digital SAT format, take a diagnostic test. 
Lesson 2:
Week 2: Reading Section - Craft and Structure
 Objectives: Understand and analyze text structure and purpose. 
Lesson 3:
Week 3: Reading Section - Information and Ideas
 Objectives: Develop skills to locate, interpret, and evaluate information 
Lesson 4:
Week 4: Writing Section - Standard English Conventions
 Objectives: Understand the rules of Standard English usage and grammar.
