Beginner Level
This class will cover a brief history of Texas Longhorns. We will also discuss how Texas Longhorns have adapted to live in the United States. Characteristics such as color, horns, hardiness, and longevity will be discussed. These terms will be presented to the student with definitions prior to the lesson to ensure understanding. The information presented is designed for students that do not have any knowledge of the subject. Students will be allowed to interact with me and other students throughout the lesson. At the end of the lesson there will be review questions. The students will be asked review questions as a group. Participation will be encourage but is not required.
Learning Goals
The student will be able to describe characteristics that are unique to Texas Longhorns.
The student will be able to explain why the Texas Longhorn breed thrives in the varied climates of the United States.

There are no required supplies for this course. The student is welcome to take notes if they choose.

I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas. I have experience teaching agricultural classes to grades 5 - 12. I am a member of the TLBAA (Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America) and own a small heard of breeding Texas Longhorns.
