Class Experience

In this course students will be introduced to the skill of technical drawing; also referred to as "engineering drawing" as well as "drafting". The class begins with an overview of the basic principles of technical drawing. Students are introduced to the primary tools of the drafting process.
During this portion of the class, we answer these fundamental questions:
What is the purpose of technical drawing?
Where and how is technical drawing used?
Why is this skill so important in so many different fields?

The class begins with a lesson covering these questions to build an understanding of the process and purpose. Students will then follow my lead in the step-by-step creation of a proper isometric drawing. Each student will create their own drawing while following my example and instruction.

The final outcome of even a well-taught technical drawing is an impressive creation that students will want to display with pride.
