Class Experience

In this introductory class I will teach students the fundamental buildings blocks for developing a sustainable singing voice with the comfort of a group environment.

Every singing class begins with learning breath technique and how your body is your instrument. We would do some simple but fun breathing and vocal exercises before moving on to putting technique into practise by learning a song or two. Remember - before you make a nice noise you have to make all the silly noises and learn how you voice works.

The main aim of any class is for the students is to discover their voice and the joy of singing but most of all to enjoy themselves.

I have a relaxed approach to teaching and want my students to feel comfortable with the sounds they're making, after all I firmly believe that singing should be enjoyable.

Learning Goals

I am classically trained, but experienced in singing a variety of styles, I am a confident vocalist who has been singing since a young age. Amongst others I have sung with the Somerset Youth Choir, Bristol Opera Company and their professional touring sister company, Tessitoura, I also sang regularly with NotaBene, a Bristol based a cappella group. I have performed solos within each of these groups as well as being a featured soloist for all these groups. At university whilst studying for a Drama and Music degree, I sang the alto solo in Mozart’s requiem and took my grade 8 singing.
