In this 3 week class, students will build and understanding of the history, the design, and the function of both rockets and missiles. We will do this from both a historic and scientific point-of-view. This will be done through multiple means such as lecture, teacher-directed discussion, visual aids and graphics, and videos, all with the hope of building a greater understanding on the basics of rocketry and weaponeering. The class will follow the following schedule: Week 1: The history of rockets & missiles. Week 2: Rockets 101: the four parts of rockets, how rockets fly, the roles and purpose of rockets, modern rockets. Week 3: Missiles 101: the parts of a missile, different types of missiles, changes in missile and technology over the years.
