US Grade 2 - 5
In this 4 week online course, students will learn about rockets, rocket science, rocket history and the best rockets ever created. The students will also interact through discussions in the Outschool classroom, and through Flipgrid. Every week, there will be a discussion forum were students can share their knowledge and the things they find interesting. They will also complete projects on Flipgrid. Weekly, I will upload a recorded lesson explaining the topics with slides and videos. The first week of the course will provide an introduction of what’s a rocket, it’s important parts, history, relation between internet and satellites, types of rockets and Newton’s third law. During the second week they will learn how is a rocket launched into space and the mechanics behind it, how does a rocket’s engine actually work and an exclusive interview with a rocket scientist. In the week students will participate in discussion forums and interact with their peers and the teacher. During the third week they will know and learn about the most famous and interesting rockets ever created, the year they were created and the mission they wanted to accomplish. Also in the week students will participate in discussion forums and interact with their peers and the teacher. During the fourth week they will learn about Astronauts secret lives, what is their mission in outer space and many fun and interesting facts about their lives, at the end of the class students will create their own space mission and share it with the class.

Students will improve their understanding of rockets, get started on rocket science, mechanics, and space missions.
