Repeated Addition in Multiplication for Beginner Learners

In this one-time class, we will learn why repeated addition is the key to becoming a multiplication expert.  It is important for our future multiplication experts to feel confident and take ownership of their own learning.   Learners will be able to state or draw groups of numbers to demonstrate their understanding of repeated addition.  For example, what does 2+2+2 look like in a group?   The class is structured by discussing questions such as:

                                        What is repeated addition?
                                        How many groups are there?
                                        How many times does the number repeat itself?

My teaching style consists of using visual examples from google slides and playing learning games on Kahoot.  Learners will work together as a team to figure out questions about repeated addition on Kahoot.  Also, I will be using physical classroom room objects such as toys and dice for learning engagement.  This will support learners on how to make their own connections with repeated addition from home.  At the end of the lesson, learners will show their work of what they have learned about repeated addition.  Are you ready to become a multiplication expert?
