1-2 hours per week. Each lesson in this Introduction to Redstone class will feature a specific assignment designed to reinforce the concepts covered. At the end of each lesson, learners will receive clear goals and tasks to complete in-game, such as creating redstone circuits, building contraptions, or setting up automated systems. Once assignments are submitted, I will review the work and provide personalized feedback, offering tips and suggestions for improvement. This feedback helps students refine their redstone skills and strategies, ensuring they can successfully apply their knowledge in future lessons. The goal is to foster continuous improvement and build confidence in the learner's redstone abilities.Certificate of Completion
Advancement unlocked! At the end of the Introduction to Redstone in Minecraft class, students will receive a Certificate of Completion that acknowledges their achievements and mastery of the course material.Class Experience
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students will learn to build complex contraptions in Minecraft using redstone, exploring mechanics like signals, triggers, pistons, observers, comparators, and machines. This class spans 8 weeks, with each week focused on a specific topic. Lessons are delivered via video tutorials and text instructions, ensuring a clear and engaging learning experience. My teaching style is fun and relaxed. I use a mix of videos, text, and interactive elements. I am available via message anytime to discuss class content or Minecraft gameplay, providing ongoing support throughout the course.
Learning Goals
Understand Redstone Mechanics: Students will grasp the fundamental concepts of redstone, including how signals are transmitted and how various redstone components work together.
Build Functional Contraptions: Students will gain the skills to create a range of redstone-powered devices, such as automated farms, secret doors, and item sorters.

Parental Guidance
In this Introduction to Redstone in Minecraft class, the content is designed to be engaging and educational, but it's important to be aware of certain aspects that might be unsettling for some learners.
Explosives: Some redstone mechanisms involve TNT or other explosive elements. While the class focuses on building and creativity, these elements might be startling or unsettling for some learners. If a learner chooses to use TNT in their creations, they should be advised to handle it carefully within the game to avoid accidental destruction of their projects or surroundings.
Complex Mechanisms: Building intricate redstone contraptions can sometimes be challenging. Students should be encouraged to ask for help if they find any part of the process overwhelming.
Official Rating:
Minecraft is rated E10+ (Everyone 10 and older) by the ESRB. This rating indicates that the game is suitable for children aged 10 and up due to mild fantasy violence and some scary imagery.
Third-Party Tools and Accounts:
An individual Minecraft account is required for participation, as it allows access to the game and its features. The account should be set up with appropriate privacy settings and parental controls to ensure a safe gaming environment.
Family Information:
Please ensure that your child’s Minecraft account is properly configured with safety settings and that they understand the game’s content. If you have any concerns about specific content or need assistance with account setup, feel free to reach out for support.
Pre-Requisites
Students should have a basic understanding of Minecraft, including how to navigate, gather resources, and craft items. It’s recommended to have taken "Introduction to Minecraft Survival" or have equivalent experience in Minecraft functions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Erick. I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Furman University. I'm an online teacher, a martial arts instructor with black belts in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a business owner, and most recently, an aspiring author. I live at the beach in Florida with my wife (also an Outschool teacher!), our science-loving son, and our cuddly cat.
I believe learning should be fun and engaging and my teaching style definitely reflects that! My goal as a teacher is to inspire, empower, and entertain students while teaching things I'm passionate about - business, finance, martial arts, fitness, and video games. In my classes, be prepared for lots of laughter and silliness in addition to learning.
I hope to see you in the classroom!
