Do you love computers? Do you want to know how they really work, and how you can program them yourself? Python is an excellent programming language for beginners and experts alike, and is used in different fields from data science to particle physics. This is a class designed for students with no prior programming experience. We will work from the basics of understanding how computers take words on a screen to produce meaningful output, to writing our first computer program, to using...
Students will get experience programming in Python, and learn how to receive input, produce output, use variables, write if statements, and write basic loops. At the end of the class students will code FizzBuzz, using what they have learned about if statements and loops.
Students should make an account at codeboard.io. This will allow me to see the code they are writing during the class and help them if they get stuck.
