This 4-session course will give beginners the fundamentals of understanding as they begin to code in Python. Session 1: What is Python?/Brief History of Python, Setting up the IDE (Integrated Development Environment), Basic Syntax Session 2: Data Types & Numeric Variables, Print & Type Functions Session 3: Math Operations & Expressions, String Concatenation Session 4: Automatic Concatenation (Printing with Parameters), Input Function Classroom Structure: In order to maximize comprehension...
By the end of this 4 session Beginner Python course, students will know how to 1) navigate to an online IDE, 2) write variables and combine statements, 3) use functions to print and get input from the user and 4) complete basic code challenges with proper syntax. I hope to instill creativity and build confidence to continue to learn to code.
There is no outside homework requirement.
Students will be informally assessed by short in-class quizzes and student participation.
3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
