Class experience
US Grade 5 - 8
Using a power point presentation, I will provide students with Pre-Algebra level problems to solve (some examples include: solving simple equations, whole number and/or integer operations, order of operations) with instructions given as needed. Students will work independently to solve the problems and they are more than welcome to ask questions if needed. Volunteers will be asked to share their answers as we go along. At the end of class, a quiz in a game format will be provided to...
In this class, I will have students solving problems that are typically done from 4th - 8th grades: solving simple equations, using order of operations to simplify expressions, identifying and graphing ordered pairs, and integer operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with positive and negative integers). These skills will help students build a solid math foundation as they work towards earning required math credits for their high school diploma.
I LOVE math and know how important these Pre-Algebra skills are for success in higher-level math classes. With 25 years of teaching under my belt, I have the resources and skill for differentiating instruction so that all learners can receive the best experience possible.

Students should have paper and pencil, as well as a notebook to hold on to their notes. It would be ideal for students to open a Quizizz account, in order to review problems in a game format at the end of class/outside practice.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
