Description
Class Experience
Students will: 1. Understand the importance of maintaining a positive attitude. 2. Be able to practice reframing a negative situation into a positive one.
I have experience working as a group-home youth counselor (ages 12-18) for 4 years, Psychiatric Case Manager for individuals re-entering into the community, and currently working as a Care Coordination family Consultant. I love teaching the importance of growth mindsets, empowerment, and life skills. Working in the social services field has given me the opportunity to work with youth and families from different walks of life. My experiences have ignited my passion for empowering youth and providing them with the skills and tools for continued success. My hope is that this course will plant the seed in every learner to be mindful of their thinking on a daily basis!
The teacher will provide a one-page handout for this class. If unable to print, learners can use a piece of paper and a writing utensil. The student will need no other apps or websites beyond standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
