Welcome! I love to have fun in class, so I keep it engaging and focused. In this multi-day class, learners will learn the basics of Pokemon Go. Learners must have the game downloaded already and be signed in before class starts. I will start out the class reviewing the rules. I will introduce myself and my co-teacher, Levi Rochester, who will be leading the class. I will chat questions and comments with him as well as message the kids. Each learner will get a chance to ask questions...
To get better at Pokemon Go!
Learners can share their game names and game numbers to become friends with the others in class. Please note, NO personal information is shared. Only a number which will connect with another player to exchange gifts within the game. I am on Level 35 and have been playing for 4 months. My co-teacher has been playing since 2016 and is on level 44. We call him the "Professor" since he's so knowledgeable about the game. We will mirror our phones, so learners can see exactly what we are talking about as we share. Only Pokemon Go will be shared, no personal information will be seen on our screens. Reach out with any questions you may have. Learners may use a phone or iPad to play the game. Have them signed in on a separate device to take the class than the one their game is on.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students can share their friend codes to exchange gifts - learners will share their friend codes with each other in the class. They can then friend each other. No personal information is shared - just a number. Pokemon Go does NOT have a chat or any way to share personal information, so that is good. A Pokemon Go account is required and should be set up BEFORE class begins. Learners should have setup their user name, ranked up to at least Level 2 before class. This allows for the learner to be familiar with how the basics work. I will share my Pokemon Go screen with the learners.
