Class Experience

Students will enhance their writing and public speaking skills each week. They will also learn new writing terms specifically about poetry.
Homework between classes will be for the students to finish the poem that they began in Class 1 of the week. They are encouraged to practice reading out loud as well. Class 2 of each week will be for sharing their poem, so they should have the poem finished before the start of class.
PDF files of poems will be provided when necessary.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class. is a great resource I will use to share poems with my students. It is open to the public.
I will also use certain anthologies of Poetry for class: Poetry 180 by Billy Collins, Anthology of African-American Poetry, Oxford Anthology of Poetry.
