Description
Class Experience
Students will learn and practice the essential skills of photography. They should complete all requirements necessary for Scouting badges related to photography for both boys and girls.
I have been a teacher for more than a dozen years and an amateur photographer for most of my life.
Each week homework will consist of three things: 1. Viewing instructional material that I provide throughout the OutSchool classroom. 2. Taking notes, completing quizzes, and posting responses (video, text and photo). 3. Working with partners to capture, edit, and post photos to a collaborative Google Slides project.
-A digital camera (SLR, mirrors, compact, or phone). -Basic familiarity with computers (saving photos to computer, uploading to Google Drive). -Flashlight, lamp, or other mobile light source.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Over the course of this class, students will assemble a portfolio of photos and notes which they may present to their parents, use to demonstrate understanding to a Scouting badge counselor, or add to a home school documentation portfolio.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parents are encouraged to preview the photos their children post to ensure that no private information (addresses, faces of people who do not post photos online, etc.) is being shared.
