Homework
1 hour per week. Each lesson, students will be given a comprehension worksheet to check for understanding of the material. The teacher will respond with feedback. In addition, there will be an application worksheet given for students to complete. The teacher will respond with feedback. Each lesson, students will be given a question to take to their parents to discuss at home different personal finance styles, according to the topic.
Assessment
In lesson 10, students will be given a final comprehension quiz. This is an open note quiz. The teacher will respond and give feedback to ensure student success in the future.

Course Overview:
In this program, students will explore Personal Finance, understanding its significance for their current and future financial decisions. The course is designed to help students achieve their financial goals, whether it’s saving for a car, funding education, or preparing for retirement. It emphasizes the importance of early financial planning and how daily decisions relate to income, expenses, and personal goals.

Course Components:

Lesson Lectures: Watch video lectures from the teacher covering each topic.
Comprehension Worksheets: Weekly worksheets to check understanding, with personalized feedback from the teacher.
Application Worksheets: Practical worksheets to apply the concepts learned, with personalized feedback provided.
Parental Involvement: Students will discuss a finance-related question from each lesson with their parents.
Final Assessment: A comprehensive, open-note quiz in Lesson 10, with feedback to guide future learning.
Focus:
The course emphasizes understanding and applying Personal Finance concepts to real-life situations.

About Ms. Gore:
Ms. Gore, a licensed Secondary Education Business and Marketing teacher based in the Los Angeles metro area, combines her 15 years of retail management experience with a passion for teaching Personal Finance. With a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Education, Ms. Gore founded Cheers to Financial Freedom to help students gain practical financial skills. Outside of teaching, she enjoys swimming with her children and dreams of returning to Paris.

The course focuses on U.S. financial practices and examples will be in U.S. dollars. Reach out with any questions or concerns.

Lesson 1:
Basic Financial Concepts
 Students will learn the fundamental principles of money, including its role in everyday life and how to make informed financial decisions. Topics include understanding values, needs, and wants.

Income Earning and Reporting
 This lesson covers the basics of how paychecks work, different methods of earning income, and how to track and report earnings accurately.

Banking
 Students will explore how banks operate, including how to manage checking accounts and use debit cards effectively.

Credit
 Learn about credit reports and scores, the features of credit cards, and how to manage credit responsibly.
