About Me:
Hello! My name is Joy Oyebisi. I am passionate about teaching Chemistry in a way that is both engaging and accessible. I love mentoring, coaching and encouraging students. With over 5 years of experience in tutoring high school/university students and teaching small group chemistry classes for homeschooled learners, I’ve developed a student-centered approach to make complex topics easy to understand.
My Teaching Philosophy:
I believe every student is capable of mastering Chemistry when given the right tools and support. My classes emphasize hands-on learning, real-world applications, and interactive discussions to inspire curiosity and foster a deep understanding of the subject. My goal is to help as many students as possible achieve their academic goals and develop a love for science.
Why Choose My Classes?
1 on 1 sessions tailored to the needs of the individual students involved.
Group classes tailored for high school students and homeschooled learners.
Clear explanations of challenging concepts like chemical reactions, stoichiometry, and periodic trends etc.
Fun, interactive problem-solving activities to build confidence.
A focus on developing critical thinking and scientific reasoning.
Tutoring and private teaching help students become better in their academics, and I believe that there is always better and simpler ways to learn new or difficult topics. Every student is unique in their learning styles and therefore, I breakdown explanations, making them simple as much as possible so as to make all kinds of learners enjoy learning.
My Background:
I hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Benin, Nigeria.
And I have over 5 years of industrial experience in Quality Assurance/Health Safety and Environment.
Who Should Join?
High school students looking to improve their Chemistry grades or prepare for exams/tests
Homeschooled learners seeking structured, small-group Chemistry classes
Anyone curious about Chemistry and eager to learn in a supportive environment
A Little More About Me:
I have been blessed with three sons and love spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading a good novel, watching interesting movies and swimming.
