This course is instructor lead with students engaged in 3 or 4 self-discovery questions that will be incorporated throughout the class. This will give the opportunity for the learners to have real-time guidance for a mindfulness breathing technique and potentially other types of techniques to support anxiety reduction. The students will learn about anxiety, how it influences them, and how to work with it to change their reaction.
This is a class that I have taught with groups in person. I have experienced anxiety myself, worked through it with my own children, and supported students I have worked with through these challenges. I am a life coach and have taken several courses, please see below. My background is unique in that I have experiences in the public school system, as a life coach, taken a variety of Professional Development courses on this subject, and am working through my Social Work degree. No homework, just the opportunity to use the techniques in their daily lives.
Bring a journal or a piece of paper, pen/pencil, and water.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner will assess themselves, knowing if the techniques work for them in their daily lives.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents may want to monitor whether they are using the techniques in their daily life.
