Class Experience

This class is designed to introduce multiplication and division, but could also be used as a review or supplement for struggling students that have already been introduced.  

Students will be introduced to multiplication and division using the Concrete > Pictorial > Abstract Approach, which has been proven to be highly successful, and used in many schools worldwide. I have been teaching mathematics in public and private schools for 12 years.  I also have 3 years experience as the department head of a school's Math Counts team and I've completed 24 + hours of training in teaching children with this particular researched based curriculum that uses Concrete > Pictorial > Abstract Approach.  In addition, I am currently teaching two, seven and eight year old home schooled children.

Students have the option to practice what they have learned by completing the attached worksheets.

  1 file available upon enrollmentParents, please provide at least 30 of the same type of object that can be counted and put into groups.  Legos, pennies, counters, pebbles, etc..  

I have attached links to some practice problems that you can use in between classes.  I suggest completing at least one or two before the next class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
