Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been involved with Model UN since high school where I was recognized as an outstanding delegate at various conferences and served as Head Delegate (akin to a club president) for my high school team my senior year of high school. I continued with the activity in college as a member of my collegiate team and served as a director for a number of high school conferences. I was also a member of my college team’s executive board. In addition, I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. I have been a social studies teacher for the past 13 years and am highly qualified to teach secondary social studies in my state (grades 7-12). I have taught middle school students for most of my career but I have also led after school study sessions for former students preparing for the AP US History and AP Government exams. As a teacher, I have also taken on the role of sponsor for Model UN. I created my school’s first-ever Model UN club 8 years ago where I prepare and guide middle school students to participate in regional and international Model UN conferences. I have also assisted my neighboring high school to create a Model UN program for students to continue their experience past middle school.
