Class Experience

Microsoft Word knowledge is required for many middle and high school classes along with college courses and jobs in the workforce.
Below is a rough breakdown of what we will cover over the course of the class:

April 14-Week 1:
● What is a word processor and why is it important to know how to use one?
● Basic searching for files and folders (Windows Explorer)
● Creating folders, saving files, and closing programs properly.
● Renaming folders and files
● Key terms
● Typing onto your document
●...

Students will learn several of the basic functions of using Microsoft Word in an academic environment.

● A weekly homework assignment will be given to show understanding of the learning objectives from class.
● Homework should be turned in within 96 hours (4 days) of it being given to allow time to grade, give feedback, and to make corrections. Additional feedback given as necessary. The sooner an assignment is turned in, the sooner it will be returned with feedback to allow multiple submissions. This is to ensure complete understanding and mastery.
● Feedback will also be given at the beginning of class to fix any issues before learning new concepts.

● The students will need access to Microsoft Word (any version that is not a trial version)
● The instructor will be using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Kahoot.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Google Slides
Microsoft Word

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Google slides or PowerPoint will be used a slide share resource. Microsoft word will be used a instructional resource. Students are recommend to have access to the Microsoft word or follow along with the instructor.
