We will explore explore narrative writing. We will cover the following things: - purpose of narrative writing (to entertain) - elements of narrative writing (characters, setting, figurative language, dialogue, problem, solution, plot sequence) - identify elements of narrative writing in a story - what makes a "just-right" size idea for a story - brainstorm 'just-right' ideas for our own story. I believe that learning should be fun! I teach with that belief. I am passionate and animated when I teach. I love to engage learners and provide a setting for them to explore and develop their ideas. When I teach, I really enjoy having learners interact with the group. I feel that we do our best learning when we are active participants. Therefore, my lessons are planned for maximum interaction and engagement! A basic understanding of English is relatively important for this class.
Learning Goals
Students will develop their understanding of narrative writing and what makes a good narrative story.
