Welcome to Introduction to Japanese Conversations now offered to younger students! This class will be similar to my other conversations classes but the material has been updated for a younger audience to help them better understand. Many resources will be given to the students such as music and images. Week 1: In week 1 we will be covering Introductions. The main topics will be greetings, basic sentence structure, and numbers (1-10). Week 2: This is where we will cover how to state our likes and dislikes, colors, honorifics, and family vocabulary. Week 3: This is where we will learn how to ask where things / places are, basic directions, and pointing words. Week 4: We will play a game to help the students remember the vocabulary words taught! (Picture matching, listening to songs, etc.)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
My name is Krystalina.
I started off as a teaching assistant at the age of 15. Where I taught students ages 3-9 how to read, write, and do basic arithmetic. After a year of teaching general education I started to teach students
ages 10-18 English composition where I focused on reading comprehension and essay writing.
I've studied Japanese for 9 years now and was a teaching assistant for the Japanese classes at my high school. I then continued on to teach Japanese as a teaching assistant for community college level. I also recently have taught at a Japanese bilingual preschool. I've helped students learn a variety of problems such as reading and writing the Japanese alphabets, to grammar, and being able to improve conversations used in everyday Japanese life.
I currently work as a lead Preschool teacher where I develop curriculum to help our young learners pave a pathway towards a lifelong love for learning.
My teaching philosophy focuses on positive reinforcement. I want students to be able to learn what they want to learn. Having fun learning about the subject is key to a successful outcome. It's okay not to understand the material there is no right or wrong answer. As long
as we work towards it together and you have a better understanding then that's all that matters. I want to nurture a safe environment where we feel confident and aren't afraid to speak up.
