Class Experience

I believe in creating a highly interactive lesson to create self-confidence in students. Each student will perform at least 2-3 times during the hour in order to cultivate trust in their creative instincts!
All my classes will involve ice-breakers, improv games, and physical warm-ups to release inhibitions creating a safe and fun environment. I want them to know this is a space where there are no judgments and they are free to enjoy their creativity and imagination as much as possible.

The first class will be an introduction to Improv. During the first class, the focus will be on building trust through fun improv games and creating an environment allowing them to experience situations outside of their comfort zones. This process helps to build their creativity while relying on their initial instincts. I've found this will help with student presentations, debates, and interviews. It's a great step to building their self-belief.

The second class will be an introduction to the Acting skill of Cold Reading by using scenes or commercials for them to perform during class. I also give them a quick introduction to the Meisner Technique, a fun acting repetition technique to apply.
Students will learn how to make instinctive choices for their Scenes and Characters. Scenes and Monologues will be posted for learners to choose from for the next lesson which will focus on auditioning.

The final class will be an introduction to Auditioning and a "Mock Audition." Students will learn the basic process of what happens during an audition and how to apply what they have learned from all previous lessons to the scenes/monologues they have chosen to perform during their "Mock Audition."
Learning Goals
I strongly believe that at an early age it's important to keep imagining/visualizing what they aspire to achieve and program the subconscious mind positively. Students will build their confidence in their creative choices and be introduced to new and fun techniques of creative expression.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am offering this class to help students gain confidence and self-esteem which leads to motivation. I feel my acting skills have given me the confidence needed in performing well during interviews, relating easily to others, and being more understanding of people by studying behavior. I also have more than 15 years of film and television experience as shown on my IMDB page https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1120742/ and would love to share my personal techniques and knowledge for any student who wants to instill confidence and belief in themselves.
