Description

Class Experience

As a teacher with a master's degree and with five years of elementary education, I am ready to share with students research-based activities and strategies that will help them learn about the extinction of the mammoth in a fun and effective way.  This interactive direct instruction class has been designed for English speaking elementary students from K-5. Students will be exposed in multiple ways as they watch a video clip, practicing the new knowledge in games, songs, and a rhyming poem....

Students will improve their understanding of the extinction of the ice age giant, the mammoth.
Students will be able to judge what theory sounds more credible based on their understanding of the extinction of the mammoth.

Hopefully, students will open their curiosity to learn more about the extinction of other ice age giants contemporaneous to the mammoth.

Page hand-outs will be provided.

During the fact/opinion game, students will be informally assessed regarding their understanding of the mammoth.

1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

I will provide the source of the material for the curriculum at the end of the PPP.
