Welcome to Geology 101: Introduction to Rocks and Minerals. In this ongoing class we will have a blast learning about a new rock each week! We will learn its composition, physical characteristics, where we can find it, uses, how it is formed, and more! We will begin class with show and tell. Every learner is allowed to share one rock (or item of their choice) with the class. This is an interactive class that allows learner participation and interaction between each learner. Please be familiar with how to unmute if needed. If you are interested in gemstones and crystals I have a class for that as well! Weekly Schedule (Subject to change upon student request) Week of 9/8: Chalk Week of 9/15: Moonstone Week of 9/22: Soapstone Week of 9/29: Opal Week of 10/6: Cordierite Week of 10/13: Amazonite Week of 10/20: Hornfels Week of 10/27: Amber Week of 11/3: NO CLASSES Week of 11/10: Tuff Week of 11/17: Amethyst Week of 11/24: Diabase Muting Policy Your learner does not have to be on mute. If there is background noise, noise from fidgeting, or problems following directions your learner will be muted and allowed to unmute when called on. Refund Policy Please note I do not refund for a missed class and follow Outschool policy. Class Time Depending on class size we might go a few minutes over or if there is only one learner we might end slightly earlier. This is not common but may happen depending on participation levels.
