Class Experience
We will explore the GarageBand application, available on apple devices specifically, how to create and record your own music and share. How to start a new project and the different operations to record, save, and share music. We will cover basic drums and beat generation - there are several different ways to set up your drum or rhythm tracks. We will also look at bass lines, and other instruments. We will cover keyboards, synths, and samplers and if we have time, recording instruments and...
Students will learn about creating music using a very intuitive program that lends itself to an easy beginning as well as more advanced users.

Students may be inspired to create music outside of class. There will be no required homework.
iPad with GarageBand installed. Other apple devices can be used but the controls may be different.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We will focus on exploring and failing and trying again. I don't do letter grades and focus more on the learner's reflections and self-assessment.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
