Bonjour! My name is Laura. I teach the class in French and I do translate as needed to help the learners to understand and memorize what they are learning. The class is for children from 5 to 8 years old. All are welcome. No prior knowledge is needed. Will read, listen to music videos, will sing along, will color, and draw. This class is taught in French.
The children will learn to introduce themselves and to say hello. They will learn the alphabet and how to pronounce the letters to introduce them to how to read in French. They will learn the days of the week, the numbers, and the months of the year. They will learn to speak French with the proper intonation.
I have over 20 years of experience in teaching languages (French and Italian) and I hold a certificate in teaching French as a Foreign Language. "Enseigner le français en langue étrangère aujourd'hui" by the Alliance Française de Vichy, France.
There is no homework. Students can practice but it's optional.
A notebook or a folder to keep the worksheets in place. Colors markers.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I do informal assessments as we go during the weeks, to evaluate their learning progress. I also encourage them to stay organized with their notebook, to keep all the worksheets organized and completed.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
