Homework
1 hour per week. Learners are welcome to review the Class recording and practise the week’s topic in their own time. I will provide worksheets which students can complete to practise skills learned in class.
Assessment
I will give verbal feedback in class and brief written feedback after class.

Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
This class will be an introduction or revision of French grammar for learners who will be starting Secondary/Grammar school in the UK or Middle/High School in USA or Canada. 
French children study grammar throughout their education. This is introduction to a complex subject aimed to give learners a basic understanding of how French grammar works. I will include some fun sentences and exercises in class.
I will introduce the terminology, give the learners sample spoken sentences, followed by written practice. 
Each class with be on a stand alone topic, so learners can attend only the ones where they feel they have a gap, or the whole series. 

Week 1. Week commencing 17th October for the Tuesday class/w.c. 31st October for the Monday class. Why are all nouns Masculine or Feminine? How do I learn which is which? Do I have to learn about this? 
Week 2. Week commencing 24th October for the Tuesday class/w.c. 14th November for the Monday class. The regular -er verbs in the present tense.
Week 3. Week commencing 7th for the Tuesday class/w.c. 28th November for the Monday class.  The present tense of the -ir and -re verbs.
Week 4. Week commencing 14th  November for the Tuesday class/w.c. 5th December for the Monday class. The most common irregular verbs. Aller, avoir and être in the present tense.
W.c. 21st November: No classes.
Week 5. Week commencing 28th November for the Tuesday class/w.c. 12th December for the Monday class: The immediate future using 'aller'.
Week 6. Week commencing 5th December for the Tuesday class/w.c. 12th December for the Monday class.  The past tense (passé composé) using ‘avoir'.
Week 7. Week commencing 12th December for the Tuesday class/w.c. 19th December for the Monday class. The past tense using 'être'.
Week 8. Week commencing 19th December. Adjectives. How they work. The usual pattern and some unusual ones.





I will be listing a French grammar 2 course later in 2023.
Learning Goals
The learners with become familiar with the terms nouns, adjectives and verbs and be introduced to how they work in French. 
Learners will  be able to use nouns, adjectives and verbs correctly in simple spoken and written French sentences in each class, depending on the topic.

I have experience of teaching learners with unique learning needs and disabilities, such as ASD. Please let me know about your child's needs and I will make adjustments, such as additional processing time and differentiated written work.
Supply List
Students with require a pen and paper or an additional device to record their written sentences on. Worksheets will be provided each week.
