Beginner Level
In this French for beginners class, learners will be able to grasp the introduction to the language as well as immerse in the French culture, exploring food, traditions... while participating in creative speaking activities related to real life situations... all in a supportive and friendly environment. We start every lesson with an introduction to the content with a teacher lead presentation. Animated power points with context clues and visuals, partner chats and group discussions will facilitate the memorization of new vocabulary every week and will help learners practice pronunciation. Distribution of topics by week: Week of February 23 – 👋 Subjects, Introductions, and Descriptions: Making Friends Week of March 2 – 📅 Days of the Week, Months: Making Plans Week of March 9 – ⏰ Numbers: Telling Time Week of March 16 – 🎉 The Verb "To Want" (Vouloir): Parties and Celebrations – Bastille Day Week of March 23 – 🌦️ Weather: Describing Seasons and Weather Week of March 30 – 😊 Talking About Emotions: Describing Feelings and Emotions Week of April 6 – 🐶 Naming and Describing Pets: At the Pet Shop Week of April 13 – 👨👩👧👦 Naming Family Members & Possessive Adjectives: Making a Family Tree Week of April 20 – 🕒 Routine Actions: Frequent Everyday Activities Week of April 27 – 🛝 Fun Activities and Action Words: A Park in France Week of May 4 – 👗 Clothes, Colors, and More: Parisian Fashion Week of May 11 – 🥖 Naming and Describing Food Preferences: French Food Week of May 18 – 🏰 Naming and Describing House Parts: A French Château Week of May 25 – 🧑💼 Professions: Naming and Describing Roles Week of June 1 – ❌ Saying No: Ne...Pas Week of June 8 – ❓ Demonstrative Pronouns: Special Word – Quel... Week of June 15 – 👀 To See: Special Word – Voir Week of June 22 – 🗣️ Asking Questions: Using Question Words Week of June 29 – 🏥 Naming Body Parts: Context – At the Hospital (Role Play) Week of July 6 – 🗼 Ongoing Actions: Context – Fun Things Around Paris We will invite students every week to complete a group of extra optional activities for more practice. We welcome learners who wish to join at any point during the program! Our supportive environment ensures a smooth transition, so new learners won’t feel left behind. We provide additional guidance to help them catch up and fully engage with the material. Plus, since the program restarts upon completion, every learner will have the opportunity to experience the full curriculum.
