30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
With an introduction to fractions with Legos class, is a lecture base class while creating the fractions on the screen. Students will learn about what a fraction is, also the numerator and denominator using Legos. Student will be shown how to make a fraction. We will practice the fractions together and at the end of class they will create their own Lego fraction to share with the class. My teaching style is modeling it first, then working on it together and finally having them practice on their own. They do not need any required experience just a willingness to learn.
Learning Goals
Student will learn what is fraction is, the numerator and denominator. They will also make their own fractions at the end of class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Kathleen Ferrufino. I'm am a teacher committed to giving students amazing experiences in math, phonic, and social skills. I believe that learning happens when kids ask questions and explore their interests. I look forward to helping your kids explorer their curiosity and see math, phonic, and social skills in the world around them. I love hands on learning and create my classes with that in mind.
I have been teaching for seven years. I have experience with ESL (English as a second language), Math, Reading, phonic and life skills or social skills. I have worked with student from kindergarten to high school. I have my masters in special education and love to differentiate lessons to reach all levels. I have taught in the resource room, inclusion and life skills settings. I encourage my students to develop inquisitive minds. The ability to problem solve and think critically are learned skills and I believe my classroom should be a space in which students can practice.
I currently teach math, phonic, and social skills courses to kids ages 5 and up. I also have my Wilson Certification and Masters Degree in Special Education.
All of my best teaching ideas have come directly from my students as we learn and explore together. If you have any thoughts about a class you wish to see, please send me a message. I am excited to meet you soon.
When I'm not teaching, I love to play with my daughter, curl up with a good book, go on hikes or watch a movie.

Missed Classes and Refund Policies
Refunds follow the ‘Limited’ model. Parents may withdraw up to a week before class starts with a full refund. Within this time frame, parents may transfer to a new section up to 48 hours before start time, but are no longer entitled to a refund. In the event a learner misses a class, recordings are privately made available in each classroom.
Class Canceled for Technical Issues
In the rare event Kathleen has to cancel a class for technical issues, the class will be rescheduled at the earliest available date and time. For one time classes, parents may opt for a refund instead of joining the new time, but will lose access to the recorded class. In the event a learner arrives in class and has too many technical issues to participate, they will be transferred to the next available section.
Minimum Enrollment
Due to the small group model, a minimum of 3 students is required to hold core classes. If there are not enough learners within 48 hours of class, families are contacted with options, including full refund or transfer to a more populated section of the same class. One-time classes have no minimum.
