In this class students will learn: Numerator/ Denominator Fractions as a whole How to show fractions through pictures How to write fractions
I have over 10 years of experience teaching fractions.
There is no homework for this class.
In this class students will need to bring the following materials: 1. Paper (any kind) (notebook paper or printer paper), Whiteboard, OR digital screen *More than one piece of paper (>10) * We will be writing fractions 2. Writing tool (any kind) (pencil, pen, marker, crayon) *Whatever your child thinks is fun to write with 3. Second device to play Kahoot game on (tablet, iPad, phone) 4. Candy Bar * Any kind * Regular size (we will be cutting it into 4 pieces)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
There is no formal assessment for this class. Students progress will be assessed throughout the lesson by answering questions out loud individually or as a group. Students will also be required to write fractions to demonstrate their understanding in class. Students knowledge can also be gauged through playing the Kahoot game at the end of class.
