Class Experience

Have you ever wondered where designers get their inspiration? How they come up with their designs? Students will learn the basics of personal branding and how it relates to their unique niche in the fashion industry. Students will focus on finding their inspirations that will be the foundation of their fashion brand. By the end of this course, students will create a mood board shoebox that will represent their personal brand. The shoebox will also be a place where they can store all of their...

Students will learn foundational fashion industry concepts as they learn the basic, beginning skills in developing their own fashion collection.

No homework will be assigned, but students can continue adding to their mood board shoebox as they see fit. They may not finish all of their shoebox in the allocated class time as it will have to dry.

-Elmers glue (not glue sticks - the bottled glue)
-Water
-Paper plate for the glue 
-Paintbrush (preferably the foam kind - non bristle - easier for the decoupage process)
-Fashion and Lifestyle Magazines (3 minimum)
-Paper and pencil (for students to create a list)
-Shoebox of any size

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Parents may need to be around for the glueing process. Parents will also need to make the glue solution (water + glue equal parts mixed together as a liquid solution) for the glueing process before class begins. 

***Cancellations and Student No Shows:

If your student can't be there, please withdraw your student, or at least contact me prior to class, and I will withdraw them. If you want a make-up class for the one missed, you will need to go back to sign up for another class. I do not make transfers.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Communication BEFORE class is key. If you let me know before class starts your student will not be there, they will be withdrawn, and you will not pay for the class.
