This is a beginner-level course! This class is designed for students that have trouble starting or finishing essays and everything in between. Students will not write a full essay in this class, but we will all work as a group to plan out key elements of an essay. Students will learn how to use tools, tips, and thinking skills that they can bring with them into the classroom and use without having to worry that they will stand out to other students. We will cover essay basics, including...
1. Break down and understand a writing prompt. 2. Choose a topic that can be applied to most writing prompts. 3. Write a proper thesis statement. 4. Write complete paragraphs using TEDLs. 5. Replace vague words with detailed descriptions. 6. Identify all necessary components of an essay. 7. Properly utilize the Four-Square model.
